Vicky Hale is the Initiative Co-ordinator for Designing for the 21st Century, a £6.5m Initiative funded by AHRC & EPSRC which explores new modes of design thinking suitable for the challenges of designing for 21st century society. She is also the Project Co-ordinator at the Visual Research Centre, a unique facility, part of the University of Dundee, dedicated to practice-led research. She has extensive project management experience, including co-ordinating Breathing Space; a series of events to celebrate the opening of Frank Gehry’s first UK building, Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre Dundee. Vicky graduated with a degree in Constructed Textiles and a Master of Fine Art and has a broad ranging portfolio through her involvement in a wide variety of disciplines, including, teaching design related studies, academic research, artists’ books and publishing, graphic and web design, public art and community education workshops. She was a Director of platform projects and has spent time as a freelance artist/designer/photographer and Gobelin tapestry weaver exhibiting in such places as the Changing Room, Stirling and the Mall Galleries, London.
